Family Fun is only a click away at ParentClick.com

ParentClick.com Press Release

05/18/2006

Family Fun is only a click away at ParentClick.com!

National site provides comprehensive information on local family resources

(Santa Barbara, CA - May 25, 2006) How can sleep deprived parents be expected to have the time or brain power left to research preschools, kids classes and activities when they barely have time to fold the laundry and clean out sippy cups?  Parents, grandparents and teachers finally have a one-stop site to find family friendly resources. Parents have come to rely on ParentClick.com for planning birthday parties, locating camps and connecting with parent support groups in cities nationwide.

In 2001, Rachael Ross Steidl founded SBParent.com to centralize family resources in Santa Barbara, California and make it easier to find local information. "Our goal is to give parents choices by connecting them with local resources. Parents no longer have to be overwhelmed when they need information," shares Rachael. ParentClick.com is the most comprehensive site for parents giving them one place to find all their links and information. It allows parents to do their research from home any time of the day.

This FREE site for parents not only lists businesses and programs but it also offers tips on a variety of subjects such as creative baby shower ideas, etiquette tips for kids, how to interview a babysitter, and research preschools. The classifieds section is one of the most widely used areas and it gives parents a convenient place to buy and sell used children's items.  Parents can register to receive a monthly e-newsletter updating them on local events and activities.

Parents are also encouraged to make a difference in their community through the families giving back section. Non-profits can post their needs by listing volunteer opportunities and wish lists which gives parents and children ideas on how they can support local organizations.

After seeing the impact this site had in her community with more than 24,000 monthly users and receiving requests from women across the country asking how they could provide similar services in their city, Rachael decided to expand by providing others with the technology, training and tools they need to set up a local site.

ParentClick.com has expanded to seven other cities since January 2006:

Santa Barbara, CA l San Diego, CA l Ventura, CA l Monterey, CA l Las Vegas, NV l Southwest Valley, AZ l Oahu, HI.

Rachael sees growth as an opportunity to support other women who want the flexibility of being a stay at home parent but miss being in the workforce. ParentClick.com gives women the opportunity to stimulate their minds and experience the challenge of running a small business and while making a positive impact on their community.

What parents are saying about the Santa Barbara, CA site (sbparent.com)...

"SBParent has changed our lives.  I was a stay at home mom for a year and a half with our two daughters.  For the first three months, I stayed home not knowing that there were activities for children that small to participate in our community.  I was in need of getting back to work, and my husband wanted to transition out of his job at the time and do some research at home while taking care of the girls.  We believe that SBParent made that possible for us.  Every week when we receive our newsletter in our e-mail, my husband and I sit down at the computer and schedule are week.  His favorite activity is the movies on Tuesday morning!  We wish they would offer that more often.  So thank you SBParent for making our lives easier!"

"Our family has had the TV off and we have had a fun time. My husband and I are getting down on the floor to play with the kids. We have gone for walks! It has been great. My daughter only complained the first day and now she is playing with her old toys. Thanks for supporting this event! I plan to do it ever year and I think I will place more limits on TV watching  - weekends only. Thanks for encouraging great parenting! "

"I love all the great resources on sbparent! I found my daughter's summer camp. I also love the nonprofit of the month section, and just signed-up to volunteer at CALM! Thanks sbparent! You're one of a kind!"

"I depend on the Events Calendar to keep in touch with SB activities. My favorite was donating blood at the Halloween Costume Swap. I had never done that before and might not have if I hadn't read about it on your site. Thank you!"

"The Events Calendar and Camps sections are two of my most valued resources as an active parent. Now that I'm working again, your site makes it easier for me to keep up on family-related events and activities. Thanks!"

"I have always enjoyed your site for the classifieds and business listings, but recently I have found the summer camp section to be invaluable. This is the first year my child has done more than one camp, so it was very nice to be able to go to one place and read about all of the great options in our community. Thank you!"

"I got your message by telephone and email. Thank you so much and God Bless you and your family for connecting us with the resources we needed. This will bring us a lot of joy into our hearts and home. Thanks."

"This site is the best! We have never had anything like it before. It allows us all to not only get enormous amounts of information but it also allows us to participate in community outreaches that are otherwise not available to individuals. Such as aiding the hurricane survivors (Operation Pack-A-Suitcase). Everyone I know in town with children uses it. Every town in America should have access to this site."

"You were so supportive an encouraging on the phone...you just don't know how much I appreciate that. I just love the website, and I rely on it all of the time. Thanks for doing such a great job!"

"Thank you so much (for the Father of the Year Prize). He was so happy and proud yesterday. He had his chemo earlier this week and wasn't feeling well but when he heard the news from you and received his prize he just lit up. And true to his character he asked what "we" could spend the gift card on. "We" his children and wife had to tell him that his prize was to be used on himself and only himself, nothing for the house and nothing on us. He reluctantly agreed to spend it all on himself. You have made our family and especially my father very happy this Father's Day especially since we will not know how many more he will be able to be with us. Thank you again"

"Thank you so much for the fun Mother's Day 5K & Family Festival. It was a superb event - extremely well organized. Thank you for caring so much about the families in our community and for doing so much to support them."

"As a first time dad, I find your site a great resource for most all of my questions! Thanks."
